Synopsis

  • 2025 - Established Newstead Wood School at LP Woodwork - A place for aspiring woodworkers to learn the art and craft of fine woodworking.

  • 2024/25 - Messmate Cabin - Designed and constructed a 4m x 2.5m timber framed cabin using Messmate timbers salvaged from 2021 wind storm.

  • 2024 - Taught 5 Day Wooden Plane Making Course at The Centre for Fine Woodworking in Nelson, New Zealand.

  • 2022/23 - Cruck Frame Carport - Began construction of carport timber frame using Cypress, Macrocarpa and traditional timber framing methods.

  • 2023 - Iron Cruck - Completed construction of experimental timber framed cabin built from Ironbark timbers, sourced sustainable from - www.wood4good.com.au

  • 2022 - Precious Exhibition - An exhibition by Newstead residents @ Newstead Arts Hub - Curated by Gordon Dowell.

  • 2020 - The 21st century Drop Slab Hut - Project in collaboration with the Ballarat Regional Treegrowers, Lal Lal, Victoria.

  • 2018 - Artist in Residency at Anderson Ranch Arts Center, Colorado, USA.

  • 2017 - Newstead Open Studios - Participated in the Arts Trail event.

  • 2016 - The Apprenticeship Exhibition, a celebration of the work and stories of thirteen artisans. Organised and curated by Artisan, Queenslands Centre for Craft and Design.

  • 2015 - Present - Post and beam frame, began building new workshop building using traditional timber framing methods.

  • 2014 - Present - Newstead, Australia, self-employed furniture maker and woodworker.

  • 2013/2014 - The Centre for Fine Woodworking, New Zealand, workshop technician and assistant tutor.

  • 2010 - CFW 10 Year Anniversary Exhibition, exhibited work at The Centre of Contemporary Art in Christchurch, New Zealand

  • 2009 - CFW Annual Exhibition, The Refinery Artspace in Nelson, New Zealand

  • 2009 - National Woodskills Competition, exhibited work as part of competition held in Kawerau, New Zealand

  • 2009 - Recipient of an Arts Grant from The Ian Potter Cultural Trust

  • 2009 - The Centre for Fine Woodworking, New Zealand, student of full-time furniture making program.

  • 2007/2008 - RMIT University Melbourne, Diploma of Arts in Furniture Design.
