First cut to fine craft. First cut to fine craft.
LP Woodwork and Newstead Wood School bring together two closely connected pursuits: the making of finely crafted timber work and the sharing of the skills behind it. From first-time learners discovering hand tools to the creation of custom furniture and thoughtfully designed buildings, everything begins with a respect for materials, process and place.
A place to learn
Offering short and long form courses, Newstead Wood School is a hands-on learning space dedicated to traditional and contemporary woodworking skills. Small classes, patient teaching and a focus on practical making allow students of all levels to build confidence at the bench. The aim is to pass on knowledge that can be carried forward, practised and enjoyed for a lifetime.
Custom furniture
LP Woodwork designs and builds custom furniture defined by careful proportion, honest materials and enduring craftsmanship. Each piece is made to suit its setting and purpose, resulting in work that feels considered, functional and quietly distinctive. The focus is on creating furniture that will be used daily and valued for years to come.
Extending beyond furniture, LP Woodwork also delivers small-scale architectural projects including cabins, studios and bespoke timber framed structures. These spaces are shaped by the same principles of simplicity, durability and connection to landscape, offering thoughtful environments for living, working and retreat.

About LP Woodwork
LP Woodwork is led by Lachlan Park, a maker and teacher whose work is grounded in a deep respect for timber, tools and traditional craft. Through both his furniture practice and the Newstead Wood School which he founded in 2025, Lachlan brings a thoughtful, hands-on approach to everything he does - creating pieces and spaces with care, and sharing the knowledge that allows others to do the same.
